we are trying to decide where to spend a few days Florence or Prague ?
arriving in Amsterdam end of August and have confirmed reservations in Venice for Sept 4,5,6, fly home to US on Sept 7
its too expensive to rent a car and drive to Florence and Venice due to dropoff rate
train schedule is really a long ride to Florence beause schedule takes you to Paris
so wondering if flight to Prague might be an option
anyone have a suggestion
Driving from Amsterdam to Italy is highly unrealistic in time and money. Look at low cost flight possibilities here: http://www.low-cost-airline-guide.com/en/airline-route-map.htm Your questions are so open-ended it is difficult to offer advice.
Both Florence and Prague are great places to visit, but it sounds like you're trying to simplify travel. For Florence, you could fly to Florence or Pisa (easy bus or train to Florence) and then take a high-speed train to Venice. Prague would most likely require 2 flights, and perhaps multiple legs if there are no direct flghts.
Hard to answer without knowing what you like to do. Also if there are no direct flights, then Florence with easy connections and plenty of stuff to see and do in town and the surrounding area.
