We plan on taking our 18 yr.Old granddaughter along with her parents to Italy next June. We love Florence and was there last year. Would like to know of any small towns near Florence so that we could relax some as well as venture in to city when we want. Love the Tuscany area. Thanks.

Will you please post a report after your trip next June? We took our teen daughters to Florence in 2011 and would all love to spend some time in Tuscan countryside. Do a web search for rentals/guided experiences. Our self-catered apt. owner(UK expat married to local) in Florence also organized villa rentals and cooking focused experiences. We put it on our list for "next time".

We will most likely have a rental car.....however, some in our party may want to take public transportation if we have different destinations in mind.
