Florence - older parents - taxi strike

My parents are traveling to Florence and apparently there is a taxi strike. They are so worried about the taxi situation; we tried to arrange a company to pick them up and take them to the airport; and they cannot find anyone to do this.

Does anyone know of a reputable company that we can pre-arrange with and make a reservation?

My brother tried to arrange a taxi for the airport, yesterday for this morning. They replied they had no cars, but I suggested him to try again summoning a taxi this morning and he found it. But he had me as a backup driver, just in case taxis were not available, I somewhat suspect taxi drivers are playing power games, but I understand that if you are not a local you do not have your safety net.

If they are anywhere close the station, tram T2 is a practical alternative.

Was thinking the same thing.
I assume it's either June 5th or 6th (the announced strike dates) that they need to get to the Florence airport?
It's possible it'll be called off but if they are walking distance to the tram, that's a good alternative. Where are they staying?
