Florence next week

Hi - We will be in Florence next week, given the time of year do you recommend purchasing tickets to the Accademia and Duomo and Uffizi ahead of time or will the crowds be down allowing us to purchase at the site when we arrive? Thank you!

I was there last year in November, but it's hard for me to know how typical it was, as Covid protections were still in place, and all of these venues had timed entrances, so we did buy tickets ahead of time. The Accademia and the climb in the Duomo were not too busy when we went, but we did go early in the morning to both. The Uffizi gallery was very busy, even with crowd control supposedly happening.

I would check to see if there are still tickets available for your preferred date(s). If there seem to be a lot of available tickets and time slots perhaps you can be flexible and book when you are there. If you are only staying a few days in Florence and you know the general time of day you’d like to go, I’d book now.

Been in Florence since Friday & it is still packed with tourists with lineups everywhere especially the weekends. I would reserve.

Thanks to all - very helpful. Looks like we will buy tickets to be on the safe side.
Second question - has anyone taken a tour with Eating Europe? We're looking at the Truffle Hunt - anyone have experience w/ this or with the tour company?

We’ve done several Eating Europe tours ( not the truffle hunt)
All have been great

I went to the Uffizi 3 weeks ago around lunch time and it was not crowded at all. Walked into the box office to buy tickets and there were only two people ahead of me.

YMMV

Thank you! What is the mask situation, are they required, did you bring or do they supply there if needed?

We were there Oct 2. No difficulty getting in to Accademia or Uffizi. No masks required. We bought tix for A and were given an admission 2 hrs later. This Sunday will be free admission to all museums, so things might be crowded.
