I was just looking at this again yesterday. The pricey Firenze card offers priority access to many of the sites. However, for the uffizi and accademia, you need to reserve a time following the Firenze card process (which is essentially call the Firenze card number on the phone). In regards to Duomo sites, priority access with the Firenze card has been suspended, except for the Duomo dome, which you can TRY to sign up for a time when you arrive Florence. For the Doumo museum and Giotto's tower, there is no priority entrance with the Firenze card.

With the Uffizi and Accademia, you can also buy the tickets thru their official website and pay a reservation fee to skip any lines. I would think that would be your lower cost option of the nonFirenze card options.

I was noting that if you book thru the official Duomo site and buy tickets directly from them, you can get skip the line tickets.

In my opinion, what method you choose depends on how many places you intend to visit (whether the Firenze card makes financial sense) and the time of year you are traveling (so how busy these museums)

Which museums? There are many and only 2 of them have long queues (Uffizi and Accademia).
Are you specifically wanting a tour or just wanting to avoid the ticket queues? You can mostly get around them by ordering timed-entry tickets in advance. Audioguides are also available at the entrance.

One guided tour isn't going to get inside faster than another as all of them have reserved for specific entry times. This is a very frequent, highly recommended tour provider amongst RS posters who've used their services; browse the Florence offerings:

Firenzecard holders and duomo ticket holders all enter the duomo attractions the same way: with a ticket. If you have the card, you take that to the ticket office in Piazza San Giovanni 7 to collect the free ticket to put in the automatic turnstiles. There is no "skip the line" advantage at the baptistry, museum, belltower or crypt regardless if you have card or a ticket. Card holders, once they collect it, will be using the same sort of ticket.

The one advantage to buying a duomo ticket online is that you can make advance reservations for climbing the dome at the same time you purchase your ticket. You can't do that with a Firenzecard: reservations can only be made once you've arrived in Florence and, at the point, it's possible for all time-slots to be filled. The duomo itself is free: no queue skipping with either the card or a ticket.
