Hello! This is my fourth time on here and every time I have received great answers. Everyone says to make reservations for the museums in Florence ( we will be there In May) and to purchase the Firenza card when we arrive, but whenever I attempt to do so, the site wants me to purchase tickets. How do I get around this?
Kerry
If you buy a Firenze card, there's no need to make reservations/buy tickets. That card is essentially a "skip the line" ticket to the attractions it covers. You would only pre-purchase tickets if you don't intend to use the card.
But be cautious of the card: it's only worth the price if you have the time/interest in seeing enough of what it covers to make it pay off. It's a matter of doing the math.

You've misunderstood. It's not and, it's or. If you have a Firenze Card, you don't need reservations to skip the lines. And if you're pre-booking admissions with a reserved time, you wouldn't spend the high extra cost for a Firenze Card. As Kathy said above, the Firenze Card is now expensive, so before buying it, make sure you're going to enough of the covered sights.
If you're not getting the Firenze Card, here's Rick's directions on how to make the reservations; in particular, start by seeing if your hotel will do it: http://www.ricksteves.com/watch-read-listen/read/articles/making-museum-reservations-in-florence
Thank you so much! That makes it clearer!
After starting to add up the individual costs, I think we are going with the Firenza card.
