Florence-Maranello private car service

Hello all,

I'll be in Italy in late May and looking for a private car transfer from Florence hotel to Maranello. I know RS recommended Transfer Chauffer Service, however they're asking me to email credit card info (which I'd rather not do). Any alternative companies you all have experience with?

Thanks in advance!

We used this company for transfers in the area

You could just take train to Modena then bus to Maranello or maybe train to Modena then hire a driver-that would save a lot of money

Why don't you take a train to Modena or even Bologna, then a taxi or private transfer from there?

Probably faster (and cheaper) than driving all the way from Florence.

From Florence to Modena is 1h15min by train (change in Bologna). Full Fare Cost €35-45
From Florence to Bologna is 35min by train. Full Fare Cost €29

From the Modena station to the Ferrari factory isn't more than 30 min by taxi (maybe 30€?)
You can also take a taxi from Bologna, although it's a little longer (about 60 min by taxi) and the cost likely to exceed 90€

A private car from Florence cannot possibly take you to Maranello in less than 2 hours. Since I know a taxi from Florence to Bologna airport costs about €200, just imagine how much it would cost to go to Maranello which is farther.

Thanks for your suggestions! Is it fairly straightforward to get a taxi from Bologna or Modena? Was hoping to have things set up ahead of time to avoid last minute scrambles - great point that I can arrange private transfer from Bologna or Modena too.

I'm not sure you need to hire a private limo. A taxi from the station will be cheaper than a private car.

I would take the train all the way to Modena (you need to change trains in Bologna in nearly all cases). You'll save a bunch in taxi cost if you go from Modena, which is much closer to Maranello. The difference in time is minimal. It's 1h 45m total from Florence. The difference is the amount of time spent on trains (cheap) vs taxi (more expensive).

Below is a photo of the Modena train station. The building on the left is the outside of the station. In the center there are the bus bays. On the right of the image are the taxicabs all lined up at the taxi stand. I would just walk to a taxi and ask them to take you where ever you need to go.

Once you want to return to the station from the Ferrari, you can call the taxi at the numbers below (or ask someone at the Ferrari lobby desk to do so for you)

From the station you can also take a city bus (no. 800 or no. 820 both go to the Maranello factory)
Or you can take this shuttle below (for a bit more money, but still less than the taxi)

Probably in Florence you have much cheaper taxi, but in Emilia are expensive. A NCC from Modena to Maranello costs around 50/60€ per way. From Bologna probably 70/80€.
NCC In Italian mean car-with-driver, so if you look for "NCC Firenze" you will find several companies where to rent a car with driver. Of course if you look for "NCC Modena" or "NCC Bologna" you find companies located in that cities.
The suggestion from Roberto (train plus car) is good to save money. From Modena there is even a shuttle service by bus from Modena train station to Ferrari museum in Maranello and is even cheaper than a taxi: https://www.vivaraviaggi.it/happy_circle.php?happy_circle=6 . This bus ticket costs 12€, to have an idea of the cost.
The request of a credit card or a prepayment is quite normal for these kind of services. The drivers want to be sure to don't lose the whole day and not be paid. To avoid to send them your details, ask if they can issue a safelink for on-line payment, so they receive the money but the details are not publicly shared.
