I see that in Florence, they apparently set up a free luggage storage facility that can be used free of charge by holders of the Brunelleschi Pass while they are visiting the cathedral, the dome of the cathedral, the baptistry, the bell tower and the museum. Has anyone here used this facility--how did it work out?
Likewise, we're debating the same thing to avoid walking (in the opposite direction) to the Stazione Ferroviaria Firenze Santa Maria Novella (train station) to drop luggage off early in the morning before heading to Duomo.
First time heading to Italy - in general - any strong recommendations to put luggage in locked storage vs. (free, convenient) museum storage? I have no problem walking and spending extra euros if that's what it takes to keep our luggage safe. I've heard leaving luggage just in the back seat of your vehicle is crazy, so if there's that much crime, wondering if we need to lock our luggage vs. museum. Any tips appreciated, thanks!
