Florence Itinerary after 3 PM

Hi..Im trying to plan Florence in the afternoon. we have 4 days / nights . I have planed 2 of those days to see surrounding towns and left 1 day after 2 PM and 2nd full day to see florence. also the 2 evenings after 5 that will be walking around and relaxing. I am considering canceling a day trip to see more of florence. Id love to hear stories how how you balanced florence with seeing surrounding areas. also how you spent evenings..great restaurants ect thanks ! did anyone book slip the line tickets while they were their to be more flexible? we are planning on seeing the uffize and academia ourselves too..although the headphones appear to be close in cost to a tour which is surprising. Im not sure the firenze card is worth it if we are only seeing the uffiz , academia and dome. i also already bout the full duomo ticket at the wrong time online oops .. thanks -

You can buy the Firenze pass that will give you access to academia and uffizi, skip the line.

Sounds like a lot to do in a short time. You can do the accademia definitely after 3pm one day. uffizi might be nice in the evening hours if it is open. then you can allow a full day to do duomo, if you want to walk the stairs and have adventures throughout the city.

When you say "arrive" is this by plane? Car? Train?
I would find my lodging, freshen up and head up to piazza Michael Angelo then get back into town and have dinner and an evening stroll.
After a full day tour do you really think you want more sight seeing.? Grab a famous Florence Bisteca and call it a night.

I suggest you visit the Accademia the day you arrive, provided it's not a Monday when the museum is closed. It's open until 6:20 Tue-Sun in November, and the lines tend to be much shorter by late afternoon. Some museums are open until 7:30 (e.g. Duomo Museum), so you might plan to visit one museum each of the 2 days you're doing day trips. There are many outdoor options in the evening, including Piazzele Michelangelo. Take a bus or taxi up and walk back through the San Niccolo neighborhood. It's also nice to just walk around Florence in the evening after all the tour groups have left and the buildings are illuminated. Walk to the Santa Trinita bridge for great views of the Ponte Vecchio, and then walk across the Ponte Vecchio in the evening when it's not packed with people. For an evening slow-time splurge, you could go to one of the grand caffes on Piazza della Repubblica (I'd suggest either Gilli or Paszkowski). I don't think you'll have any problem filling your late afternoons and evenings. One last thought: it's wise to reserve for dinner at popular restaurants, either a day ahead or at lunch hour.

In 1.5 days, you can see several highlights of Florence. I would reserve ahead for the Accedemia and Uffizi, one in the afternoon, as Frank suggests, and the other early the next day, leaving the rest of the full day less structured. The Firenze Card costs €72 per person for 72 hours of sightseeing but it seems a shame to spend that much if you won't be in town the whole time. The Duomo Museum and the Palazzo Vecchio are also open later, to help stretch your day.
