Florence Itinerary

Looking for advice for our Florence itinerary. We (husband and young adult daughters) will be there the following dates:
Arriving Tues. March 19- noon-
City Walking tour and free time for
Shopping
Wed. March 20
Private guide Tuscany country side wineries
Thurs.March 21
Group tour Ufuzzi Gallery
Fri. March 22
Cinque Torre-group tour
Sat. March 23
Free Day
Sun. March 24-Depart late afternoon
Synagogue tour & stroll the city
Should we combine the Academia with the Ufuzzi Gallery day or book the Academia separate on Saturday or Sunday?
If we leave Sat. March 23 as a free day looking for suggestions as to what to do? Another day trip or stay in the city. (We already have traveled to Rome).
Thanks for your help.

Your interests will be different from mine, but if that were my touring schedule I'd save Saturday for immersing yourself one more time in the wonder of walking through Florence. I always try to leave at least one day unscheduled in case I need some down time OR I discover something I want to see once I arrive in a new place.

Two museums in one day is too much for me. Uffizi one day, Academia another.

I'd absolutely use the 23rd for exploring more of Florence. As your itinerary stands, you have a considerable amount of booked tours so an entire free day for less scheduled sightseeing would, I think, be welcome.

Florence offers a great deal to see if you're interested in art (especially Renaissance) and architecture. Some additions to your list might be:

The Duomo complex: cathedral, baptistry (which is a real piece of work), and museum, specifically. Belltower and crypt are also included in the ticket.

Museum of San Marco. We particularly enjoyed this one! The Bargello is also well worth a look.

Or, just make a day of some of other churches. Of note:
Santa Croce (Michelangelo is buried here along with some other notables)
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Trinita
Last but one I'd put high on the list is San Miniato al Monte. The bonus here, aside from this very old and important church itself, is one of the best views high above Florence. Piazzale Michelangelo is just below the church and offers terrific views too. A little about all of these...

Even if you're not of the Christian faith (I see you're doing a Synagogue tour), the churches are of value just for their historical architecture and art: important pieces of the Florentine story. :O)

You can do Accademia the same day as Uffizi. You’re really just looking at David and Prisoners. You’ll probably look at David for longer than you think, but you won’t be inside for more than 20 minutes. The other art there is skippable, especially if you’re going to Uffizi.

I sure wouldn’t leave Florence on that free day. There’s SO MUCH more to see than Uffizi and Accedemia! You’ve not even scratched the surface.

Depending on how old your daughters are, they will most likely want to go shopping!
There is very good shopping for all kinds of things in Florence; so leave them more time for that.
