Hi, I will be in Florence next week for 3 days. Any suggestion on how I can spend this 3 days? Thanks!

Hi Xinwei. The church above Piazzale Michelangelo is called San Miniato al Monte. If you like museums, by all means visit the Uffizi and the Accademia, which has Michelangelo's sculpture of "David." The Museo San Marco is very nice too. You can take a tour of the Palazzo Vecchio, next to the Uffizi. Visit the Duomo and the Baptistry. You can go up to the top of the dome (and/or the belltower) - I don't know how much this costs but the views and the experience are worth it! Visit the Ponte Vecchio, the church of San Lorenzo for more statues by Michelangelo, and the Ospedale degli Innocenti and Pazzi Chapel, both designed by Brunelleschi.

if weather is nice, cross the river from the major museums and climb up to Piazzale Michelangelo, stopping for a nice break partway up (or on the way back down) at the Solon Rose Garden. I don't know if this lovely garden ever made it into the guidebooks. it is fairly new. beautiful views from the benches, and nice sculptures, too. A short climb above the Michelangelo plaza is a terrific church (Miniata? sorry about spelling) which also has beautiful and moving cemetery. We spent hours up there in October. this place IS in the guidebooks. It all gets you away from the darker and dingier city feeling of Florence. There's also a famous formal garden near Florence I did not see but read about in garden mag after returning to U.S. Can try to find name, if you like.
We really enjoyed a day trip to Siena...only an hour by bus. Have a great trip!

There is so much to do in Florence- the guidebooks are brimming with places to go and things to do. I don't think I can improve on them. However, it you get tired of walking the city streets, or simple tired, I can recommend a day trip into Tuscany such as the Slow day in Tuscany -www.slow-days.com which we found a relaxing break to our travels last year.
You could easily spend all three days seeing sights in Florence, but mixing it up with a day in the country might make for a more varied and enjoyable trip.
