Florence Italy Hotel recommendations

Hello!
Would appreciate any feedback on Hotel Brunellschi in Florence. Seeking a special hotel for vacation in Feb.
How was the location? Size of rooms? Any other hotel recommendations?

Multi generational trip including grandma and teen son. Seeking luxe but not magazine editor vibe....

Thank You!

We stayed in Hotel Vilanni. The rooms were not expensive, but the hotel was 1 block from the Duomo. The hotel has a fabulous view from the terrace on the roof - it's like you can reach out and touch the Duomo. The breakfast was good.

While you're waiting for replies, the reviews of Hotel Brunellschi on booking.com (my go-to for hotels, with reviews I tend to trust) are in the "Wonderful" range. The location is very good, based on our having been to Florence. It's pretty much smack in the middle of the historic district.

Reviews on TripAdvisor are also in the "Excellent" rating range. You can also view candid photos taken by other travelers on that one.

Size of rooms is provided in Booking's descriptions of the various rooms, as well as on the hotel's own site, with the smallest being a "classic double" at 194 ft². In twin-bed formation, that would be pretty tight; not unusual for Italian hotels but with a teen grandson along, I'd choose a step up to a bigger room if possible.

The photos look lovely!

I don't have personal experience with that hotel, but reviews are excellent.

If that doesn't work out for you, we loved our stay at Palazzo Alfieri: https://www.palazzoalfieri.it/en/index.php

Because we also travelled in off season, we were able to afford an Exclusive Suite with River View. This was like a luxurious mini apartment! There was a large bedroom with a huge bathroom. The shower was large with various types of showerheads and coloured lights. There was a vestibule/entryway. On the other side of that was a mini-kitchenette with a small fridge, microwave, and a counter with stools. Then there was a chaise longe and, behind a pony wall, a jetted tub with a television over it. The hotel had wonderful breakfasts, and the view was lovely. We could even see Ponte Vecchio.

I’ve stayed at Hotel Brunellschi. Now, it’s been 15 years ago so I won’t comment on the rooms bc I’m sure they’ve been updated (assuming) but as for location, it’s fantastic. The rooftop is small but has stunning views of the cathedral. On return trips, we have rented apartments but I’ve used Hotel Brunellschi as my point of reference
