Florence in weekend

We will be in Florence end of May in weekend ( from Saturday afternoon to Tuesday early morning).

Now I see that Accademia and Uffizi Gallery are both closed on Monday. So i will have to visit both these sites on SUnday and Duomo on Monday.

Are both sites doable in one day? which of the two should be done first if both have to done of same day? Any itinerary suggestion for Sunday and Monday?

Also should we buy Firenze card just to have the flexibility of visiting all sites whenever we want in 2 days?

thanks in advance

I think both are doable in one day. The Accademia is quite small (we spent maybe 90 minutes there, tops). The Uffizi is much larger, I recommend a tour guide (nice to have but not necessary). I think you should do Accademia in the morning (buy tickets online ahead of time for earliest entry-you will get to see David without a ton of people around). The lines get very long. You can relax during the day (lunch, gelato, Ponte Vecchio etc) and do the Uffizi near the end of the day. It totally clears out around 30 minutes before closing. We got to see Boticelli's Venus with no one else in the room-it was spectacular! Definitely one of the highlights of the trip. Also our favorite gelato was La Carraia if you need a suggestion :)
We did the Duomo museum and Duomo climb on the same day, it didn't take too long and left lots of free time for walking around. Have a panini at Panini Toscani (right near the Duomo), it is delicious!
We did not do the Firenze card so I can't comment on that.
We loved Florence-have a great time!

If you make advance reservations just schedule yourselves into the Accadamea early and then allow 15 minutes to walk to the Uffizi...unless you have a deep passion for Florentine art you should be able to get through Accadamea pretty quickly.
You can do all three in the same day if you don't spend time in lines of dilly dally too much.
If you take a tour at either Uffizi or Accademia then you'll need the extra day.
We chose to spend our "extra day" in Siena instead of Florence.

I did both the Accademia and Uffizi Gallery in the same day. I followed the RS audio tours for both, which were extremely helpful, esp in the Uffizi. It’s massive! They’re also an easy (and pleasant) walk from each other. I suggest doing the Uffizi first so you use the bulk of your museum-energy on the bigger gallery.

Can’t help on the Firenze card question, as I just made reservations at both :)
