Florence in the Springtime

Hello all! We are heading to Florence for the month of June. We have been there in the late summer/early fall of the year, but this will be our first time during the spring. I can't wait!! My question is, what are some of your favorite springtime activities in Florence? Are there any special places that just "pop" in the springtime and are must-sees? Thanks for any info!

June, especially the second half, is generally as hot as July. So, more than spring, you'll likely experience Summer. June is the month when the Calcio Storico is played. It's an ancient football tournament played among the 4 quarters of Florence. It resembles rugby, just much more violent (basically there are no rules). Google it. It's played on Piazza Santa Croce, the final is on June 24, on St. John's day, Florence's patron day. The holiday culminates with fireworks from Piazzale Michelangelo. Best views are from along the river Arno, in front of the Piazzale.
