Heading to Florence this weekend and appears to be rain/thunderstorms/heavy rain. Any suggestions besides Accadamia and Uffizi Museums?
The Bargello and the Pitti Palace, with or without the rain.
And if you are into the art - the churches - Santa Maria Novella, Santa Croce, and San Lorenzo. If you have kids, take them into the Duomo and visit the subterranean ruins of Santa Reparata. Or climb the Duomo or the Campanile.
I didn't let a thrown out back stop me from traversing miles and miles of Italian streets, bridges, stairs, hills, etc etc; don't let a little water stop ya! Get an umbrella and do it like it's not raining, and enjoy the less crowded streets! (that being said, I'm an Oregonian and I LIKE the rain...) =-)
