We have never been to Florence in Feb. Will the open air markets still be operating? Or is it too rainy? We loved all the leather stalls etc but wonder if that just happens in warmer weather. Thanks.

Florence is fine in February. With a little good luck the weather will be very nice: 17 c/62 f for example. It could be wet and a bit raw, but in my experience (two visits) the weather was fine once and ok the other time. Wear layers and a light rain slicker and you will be fine. As for the markets, I know that food markets are mostly an all-year affair. Happy travels.
