Florence in 1 day (a Tuesday)

We have one full day with no travel to spend in Florence. It's a Tuesday, which sounds like a very busy day as several sites are closed on Mondays. My daughter s checked out RS Renaissance Florence book & has suggested the following: "Looking at a map, everything is pretty close (thank you Florentines). The Accademia is the "furthest" from everything else so I think start there. Then walk to the Duomo and maybe go into the Medici Chapels (that sounds more interesting to me than the Palace). From there walk to the Uffizi and that area of craziness. The Galileo Museum is only open from 9:30-1pm on Tuesdays but is right next to the Uffizi. We can see how the day is going and if we can make it there, great. If not,
that's okay. Or we could do the day in reverse? I just hink starting off earlier at the Accademia is a good idea." Does this sound like it would work well? Which area would be a good starting point? We are staying off of Via Del Giglio, & I think w/in walking distance of Duomo Cathedral.
