after many hours trying to find affordable rooms in Florence for 5 nights, mid OCTOBER, I finally booked 2 through Bookings.com. Both offer free cancellation. They are: B and B Tourist House Ricci, and Hotel Albani Firenze. Both get pretty good reviews on Bookings site but I would like to hear from any of you who have stayed at either. Alb F. gets better reviews on Bookings site. Both are more than I wanted to spend,, but after looking at about 30-40 other sites I was getting worn out, because non had rooms available. Thanks.

Go to travelzoo.com and read the good and the bad and take it with a grain of salt for information. It has been accurate for me

Have you ever used TripAdvisor.com as a research tool? If not, give it a try. It is just one guage that I use when reasearching. Type in the name of the hotel in the search box and begin reading. If you want more information from a reviewer, you can contact them through private mail once you become a registered user. Many are happy to elaborate on their visit.
