Hi! My husband and I will be in Florence for 5 nights in November. We are struggling to decide between the Pendini and Hotel Europa. Both are RS recommendations, and we are not that worried obout the difference in cost. My concern is that it will be dark at about 5:00 while we are there, and Pendini seems to be in a more active area. We plan on visiting sights near both.
Any thoughts?
I have never stayed in either but I'm originally from Florence. The two hotels are 5 minutes' walk apart, both are in very busy areas in the busiest area of the city center which is going to be very active until late at night even in November. Basically you are asking whether one should stay next to Times Square or next to Rockerfeller Center since it gets dark before 6pm. I don't understand the concern. You won't be the only one out in the street at night in either place, I can tell you that much.
Thanks so much.
I recommend Pendini. I stayed there 2 years ago and am staying there again in two weeks. Lovely breakfast room that is included. Friendly, helpful staff. All positives for me. Request a quiet room in back.
We have stayed at the Pendini and enjoyed the room, the breakfast, the service, and the location very much. Luckily we had an off-season rate because it is usually out of our budget range!
