Florence: Hotel Bigallo or Soggiorno Battistero

Does anyone have any personal information on either of these two Florence hotels? I have read some negative reviews on Bigallo on Trip Advisor saying that some people have been sent to a different hotel when they had confirmation at Bigallo. This is worrisome to me if common or true. I know that RS recommends Soggiorno Battistero. I have the option of staying at either one of these for 5 nights in June. Any pros or cons for either? Both pretty much in same location overlooking the Duomo. I know about the noise related to both, but am thinking, with earplugs, air conditioning, and windows closed for sleeping, hopefully, that won't be much of a problem.
Thanks in advance.

Though I have no information about Bigallo, my wife and I have stayed at SB on two different occasions for about three days each. We had a room in the back both times (do not recall if we requested that arrangement) but our travel partners stayed in the front room and did not complain of noise (though we were often out late at night ourselves and returned exhausted!). The hospitality was very good and helpful. The flight of stairs to the entrance can wind a person (esp. with bags) but as long as you are ready for that, it is no problem. The convenience of the location outweighs the climb up the stairs. The rooms are large with high ceilings. The AC was a welcome addition to the room on a hot summer day. Obviously, I had no second thoughts about returning and wld do so again (as an aside ... on our second booking four years later, they recognized our name and that, unbeknownst to ourselves, we had requested the exact same dates!).

Thank you Mathieson.g for your helpful response. I feel resolved to go ahead and cancel Bigallo.

I recently stayed at Bigallo and had no problems with noise. The staff was very helpful and I would stay there again.
