Florence Hotel

My husband and I will be in Florence 9/11 through 9/13 and we were able to book the Best Western Hotel Capitol at an employee rate of 69 EURO. Rick's 2009 Florence book lists some accomodations similarly priced in the city center and I'm considering trying to secure a reservation with one, knowing I am cutting it close for most budget accomodations. I am wondering if anyone is familar with the area this Best Western is located in and if you would recommend it. We're young adults and traveling by train.

Most of the main sights in Florence are within walking distance from each other. The Duomo, Uffizi, etc...20-30 minutes maybe. You may end up getting a room that will not be as nice. They are a little liberal with the star ratings. Don't believe that all 3 stars places are the same.

I think you have a great deal. The hotel is rated 153 out of 558 hotels in Florence. Reviews are mostly quite good. However, it looks like you just outside the central area. It also looks like a long walk from the train station. Florence has a really good bus system. Your hotel person can probably give you great instructions how to ride the bus the historical areas.
