Has anyone stayed at the Bellevue House or Hotel Bargellino recently? Both are near the Florence train station. I'm looking for one night. Trip Advisor has some good comments about both but that source isn't always "right on". Comments about these or other suggestions would be appreciated thanks
My wife and I stayed at Il Bargellino in October along with another couple and we all loved it. Carmel and Pino were excellent hosts. The room that my wife and I had was right next to the lobby on the ground floor and Carmel warned us that we may be bothered by noise from the street but we never noticed. We had our own bathroom. Our friends had a room upstairs with a sink and a shower but the toilet was down the hall. My buddie said he wasn't too thrilled to walk down the hall in the middle of the night. The terrace on the second floor was a great feature. Late in the afternoon we would take a break with a bottle of wine and chat with our hostess or with other travellers. The location of the hotel was another great asset.
Thanks Dean for the insight. Much appreciated
