I would like get the opinion on
Hotel Porta Faenza on via Faenza close to the train station, in Florence
Italy. We plan to stay 2 days in Florence during our trip to Italy this summer (June 2008). Is the place good for families and how is the service. We plan to arrive there in the late evening by train from Rome.
Thanks

My wife and I stayed at Hotel Basilea which is also about 5 blocks from the train station. It's near the Hotel Porta Faenza. It was a very nice stay.
www.tripadvisor.com has the Hotel Porta Faenza rated No. 39 out of 515 hotels rated in Florence. Interesting ratings including one claiming "bed bugs". CLICK HERE and see for yourself.
We are going to Florence for the first time and after researching guidebooks and tripadvisor I was too happy with the choices. I some how found this place http://www.johanna.it/struttura.php?file=residenze&leng=eng
We booked the Johlea location. It is a little out of the way, but it was really cheap. They also only take cash. Another option to look at.
