Traveling with a 13-year-old, so every inch of personal space will be precious. Have you stayed in the triple rooms at the Centrale, Pendini or Belletini? Your experience will be our guide. Grazie!
We stayed at the Pensione Pendini a few years ago. Although it has a great location, we did not care for it at all. Very small rooms, dark, gloomy, stairs involved as elevator did not always work. Hotel also had a strange odor. We would not stay there again and would not recommend to others.
Good to know, thanks. Six nights in a stinky room would not bring out the best in a young teen.
I was just in Florence with 3 travel companions and stayed at Hotel Davanzati. We had a 4-person room but we had a lot of space and it was very comfortable and the price was not too bad-though I must say we split it 4 ways. The room had a large queen and 2 twins. It was one of the largest multiple bed suites I have been in for the price. The bathroom was also a very good size for Europe. It is conveniently located for all of the attractions, and getting to and from the train-station. The staff also spoke pretty good english and were very helpful. http://www.hoteldavanzati.it/
We just booked Hotel Centrale for our family this summer. Have not been there, but have heard good things about it.
Thanks! I bit the bullet and made a decision when hotels.com served up a rate equal to $149 a night at a hotel I hadn't even been researching -- the Hotel Pitti Palace, at the southern end of the Ponte Vecchio. Hope I chose well.
