I'd like to book a guided tour for the Uffizi and the Vasari corridor and possibly the Palatine Gallery in the Pitti Palace. Has anyone done this tour with ticketitaly.com? Any other tour providers you would recommend?

I didn't see any tours. This looks like a ticket reseller, selling what you can buy yourself on line.
We took two tours in Florence with Walks in Italy. One thing I noticed is that the guides in Italy have to be licensed and are required to wear their badges around their necks; they seem to freelance between all the companies offering tours, and they all know each other. If your guide doesn't have the badge, you have no assurance you are getting your money's worth.
Here are our recommended guides for Florence from Rick's Florence & Tuscany guidebook. I'm sure they would be willing to take you around to those sights. I hope one of these works for you.

Alessandra Marchetti, a Florentine who has lived in the US, gives private walking tours of Florence and driving tours of Tuscany (€60-75/hour, mobile 347-386-9839, www.alessandramarchetti.com, [email protected]).
Paola Migliorini, her husband Giuseppe, and their partners offer museum tours, city walking tours, private cooking classes, wine tours, and Tuscan excursions by van--you can tailor tours as you like (€60/hour without car, €70/hour in a van for up to 8 passengers, tel. 055-472-448, mobile 347-657-2611, www.florencetour.com, [email protected]). They also do private shore excursions from the cruise-ship port of Livorno (€580 for up to 4 people, €680 for up to 6, €780 for up to 8, includes a driver/tour guide; also possible from La Spezia but more expensive).
