Hi! I'd appreciate recommendations for excellent restaurants open on Sunday in Florence. Casual or fancy, doesn't matter, great food is what we're after. Thanks!

Most restaurants in Florence are open on Sunday. We eat at the cafeteria mentioned often - it is inexpensive and fun, and we do like the food - but I wouldn't call it an "excellent restaurant" - it is a very good cafeteria!
What are you looking for? Tuscan food? You really have to pick a price point in this town - you can get the same meal, of varying quality and standards of preparation, at many places. What some people call great, many call tourists traps! It is sort of hard to avoid in Florence, unless you get outside of the city.
Off the top of my head list - very good to excellent: Trattoria Garga, Boccadama, Il Barrique, Il Santo Bevitore, La Giostra, Osteria de Benci, Osteria del Caffe Italiano, Gastone... these are places where there is great food and atmosphere.

You should try Nerone's. It is absolutely wonderful. Very inexpensive, but DELICIOUS food and great wine. We ate there 3 or 4 times during our stay in Florence. As we returned to Florence from Rome early one Sunday evening, we were looking for a restaurant that was open. Nerone's was recommended to us and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Enjoy!!!
