My daughter plans to study in Florence for a few months; any advice on reasonable rentals.(This will be some time between September and March.) Also, will we need any special papers for staying longer than a month? Thanks for any info.
She will need a student/education visa if staying longer than 90 days. Her school would be aware of the requirement and should have the necessary paper work.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate it.
The school will take care of the paperwork requirements. What is 'reasonable' to you? I'll give you the Florence average prices for rentals: - Shared apartments: single bedroom in apartment shared with other students range on avg from Euro 300 to 500 per bedroom per month. - Studio (one room only+small bathroom): Euro 400 to 1000 month - One bedroom (small): Euro 600 to 1300 The higher end price is for the historical center. Not much cheaper than Manhattan, I'm afraid. I think getting a bedroom in a bigger apartment shared with other students is the best option to stay within about 400-450 euro/month, even in the center. If the students are Italian she might get a chance to practice her language skills too. There are several websites where you can search. These are the most used by students. http://firenze.bakeca.it/ http://www.mioaffitto.it/ http://www.casa.it/affitti

Thank you so much. This is excellent information. The prices are more than reasonable and the websites will give us a great starting point for searching for an apartment. Once again, thank you.
