Florence - cruise stop on a Monday

Since most major museums and attractions are closed on Mondays, do the cruise line excursions get special access? I noticed many boats dock in Livorno on a Monday. Doesn't seem to make sense.

I don't think that there is any special access for cruisers on Mondays. What is the cruise line suggesting that you do on Monday? The Accadamia and Uffizi are both closed but many other sites are open.

CLICK HERE to see a very good list of the museums and what is open and what is not. A couple of sites that are not on this list are the Duomo, Baptistery or the fabulous Duomo museum (Dell'Opera del Duomo) which is behind the left side of the Duomo and across the street. These three are open on Monday.

We get a few cruisers now and then that want to plan their own journey into Florence. Also, we get a few that want to go to the Cinque Terre for the day. Again, see what the cruise line is telling you. But if you want some train schedules, let me know and I'll get them to you.

Do you have any websites for cruises that go from Italy to Athens? Any ideas are appreciated! Kimi
