I am looking for a one day cooking class that my daughter and I can join in June. Ideally we would like a class held outside of Florence at perhaps a villa and the transportation is provided by the company.
I have not taken the class yet, but accidentaltourist.com seems to have an interesting schedule and we plan on taking the class this summer.
There are two cooking schools in Florence that I am aware of that provide a 6-hour cooking class. Both are conducted in Florence. My wife and I took such a class at Scoula de Arte Culinaria Cordon Bleu Firenze (www.cordonbleu-it.com). They didn't appear to be associated with Cordon Bleu in any way but the class was great and informative anyway. We took the class on authentic Tuscan dishes. Just great. The second is www.divinacucina.com. Judy (Diva) is an American Ex-pat. The school is quite popular.
My husband and I did the Accidental Tourist Cooking class in May 2001. We were picked up in Florence and driven to the estate of Count Rossi. We had a tour of the wine cellars, and where they made their own brand of olive oil. Then we sampled wine, bread, olive oil in the courtyard before our class. We made ravioli. We had a huge meal on the patio, including our ravioli, desert, and of course, lots of wine. We were driven back to Florence. It was a wonderful day, and a highlight of our trip.
