If you want to take a cooking class in Florence, I can highly recommend Mama Florence cooking school. My husband, two friends and I took the market tour and traditional Tuscan cooking class in May 2023. The tour of central market was fun and informative. The highlight was the class. It is taught by a chef in a small professional kitchen. Our class had a family of three besides ourselves, so the class was small enough for a lot of hands-on cooking. We cooked a four course meal, including making our own pasta. Since we have been home, have made the pasta and chicken cacciatore recipe several times with good results. You will get the recipes and if you opt-in, they will send you emails with new recipes. I would take this class again in a heartbeat.

This is great advice, thank you! I was just looking for a class for my daughter and I when we go in May.

Any reviews on this class?

Our group of 4 or 6 will be staying in central Florence next April four nights and want a class where we can kind of get outta Dodge for a few hours--they pick you up on the Oltrarno side of the river, drive you about 30 km into Chianti, and bring you back as well. Either a 4 or 7 hour class. What I have heard has been good.

My husband and I just had the most fabulous cooking class experience in Montepulciano! It was recommended on one of these forums and it was probably the highlight of our two week trip through Italy. The place is called Rosso Rubino Trattoria and the contact is Christiana and the chef, Vittorio. They were fabulous and really took time with us. You have to just go to their restaurant website and then Email them directly but so so worth it and the cost was reasonable.
