Florence Card

Please clarify - we will have Florence Cards - are we still required to make reservations at the Accademia and the Uffizi? Some posts sound like you can just walk up (and perhaps wait if it's busy) but some I interpret as saying we have to still make a reservation (and then we'd walk in at that time without paying because we've pre-paid for the Florence Card. Thanks.

No reservations required but you may have wait if the museum has reached capacity. Do not wait in the regular line but go to the door at the Uffizi marked With Reservations (there are two - one for groups and one for individuals). Remember your card is good for 72 hours from the time you first use it.

In case you're interested in possibly seeing the Accademia and Uffizi more than one time or for a longer period than just the 72 hours that the Florence card is valid, check out the http://www.amicidegliuffizi.it/diventa_socio.php?pg=8&ln=en website. Family membership for the remainder of 2012 is 100 Euros and in addition to skipping the lines and reservation hassle, it includes access to many other Florence museums.
