Florence Card

Does anyone know if the Florence Card is also good on the Trams? I understand it is good for all city BUSES but did not if the Tram is included in that.

Trams and buses are usually considered the same type of transportation in most cities, not sure about Florence specifically. However, the sights in Florence are quite close together and easy walking.

As far as I can tell from the Florence public transportation website, there is no difference between the bus fare and the tram fare - single tickets are good for 90 minutes on the system which would imply that you can use the Firenze card on the trams. Having said that, the tram lines start outside of the historical centre (closest would be the one that ends at the main train station). Where are you planning to go on the tram?

Thank you for your response. The Tram is part of the deal and the reason I was interested is because our daughter is staying in Scandicci outside of Florence and that is the way to get there. Don't need it for seeing everything in Florence but need it to get from Hotel to Center of Florence and to the train station. We are in Florence now and using the Florence card in a big way. Did not know what our schedule was going to be like so to save time we got it for the Ufizzi and Academia. We had no waiting to get in and the line was was more than a block long to buy tickets. :o) A good deal for us.
