What is a Florence Card? What places can you see with it. Where do you get one and how much is it?
I think you are referring to the Firenze Card, which is gathering enough steam to be mentioned on one of Mr. Steves' recent facebook videos. It is 50 euro, and gives admittance to several museums, attractions and public transportation around Florence. I think it is good for 72 hours. More info can be found here: http://www.firenzecard.it/?lang=en Also popular is the Friends of the Uffizi card.
On my last trip to Florence we bought the Friends of the Uffizi card which is one heck of a deal. It is now 60 Euros but it is valid for an entire calendar year so if you go backa agin you can re- use it by Dec 2011. It gives you access to a bunch of museums and you get to SKIP THE LINE and that saved us at least 30 minutes or more of hot sun time. Try to buy the pass early and you can not buy it in person on Sun or Mondays. THIS WAS ONE OF THE SMARTEST THINGS WE DID! http://www.amicidegliuffizi.it/become_a_member.aspx You also want to go to Cafe ZAZA that Rick recommends next to the Market. Get an appetizer and share it. We ate there every night. great food at great prices!!!
