Florence

We will be there in May and we booked hotel Spadai. It's nice and it's in the Duomo area. Maybe little spendy.

I like Hotel Bigallo around the corner from the Baptistry. Tiny side street so not much night noise.

My family also will be in Florence in October and looking for same information.

We have stayed three times at Hotel Casci. It's a family run hotel with good-sized, clean rooms, nice breakfast, and air conditioning. The only downside is that the towels are more like table cloths, but they function well enough. The location is on Via Cavour and you can see the Baptistery when you walk out the front door. Friendly and helpful people.

We stayed at the Hotel Axiel. Literally down the street from the Duomo. We loved it. Nothing fancy, but clean, comfortable and pleasant. And within walking distance to everything. We would definitely stay here again.

We stayed at the Hotel California on an RS tour. It is very close to the Duomo and a really nice hotel.

Stayed 2x at Hotel Accademia, a short walk from the train station and near the Medici Chapels. Large rooms and good breakfast. www.hotelaccademiafirenze.com Otherwise have rented apts. in Florence which we love.
