Hello all. My family and I are planning on travelling to Florence next year in April. I didn't realize that the facade of the Baptistry of San Giovanni is under construction, hence covered up. It's still nice to know we can still see the interior, but does anyone know when the facade restoration(?) will be completed?
Local news from Florence states that scaffolding was supposed to have been removed by Oct 25th. If there has been a delay, I don't imagine it'll be for long.

But the interior is the star anyway, and the ceiling in particular: not what you'd expect from the outside!
Pope Francis is due to visit Florence next Tuesday and the Baptistery scaffolding has been removed just in time for his visit.
Now the baptistery is noticeably cleaner than the Cathedral.
