Florence attractions with the longest lines?

Which sights in Florence typically have long lines for tickets? We'll be in Florence in July (14-20).

We're trying to figure out what to do:

  1. Buy a Firenze card for the front-of-the-line perk and see everything we want to see in three consecutive days (we wouldn't get the card in the hopes of saving money; we're more interested in saving time and not standing in long lines) .
  2. Figure out which sights have the longest lines and buy advance tickets for them, if possible, and just pay as we enter other sights that don't have long lines--and not worry about seeing everything in three consecutive days.

Can you share which museums and churches have the longest lines in July? Thanks very much!

In decreasing order of length of lines:
Uffizi,
Accademia (David)
Duomo,
All others tend to be reasonably short..
You can book in advance individually, for faster entry, even without the Firenze card.
Without reservations, the Uffizi has shorter lines in the evenings, a couple of hours before closing time. But I recommend booking.

Not sure about booking the Duomo, though, since it's a church. I think now you need to book the climb to the Cupola or Giotto's Campanile.

Others may have more recent advice. I have been to them dozens of times but not recently.

Hi Kathy,

We'll be in Florence in a few weeks. You now need timed entry to the museum and duomo. Check out the link below for dates and times and book directly online. They email a confirmation page and a second email with a voucher link that you will need to print from home. Each person will have there own voucher so make sure to print all vouchers for your party.

Good luck and happy travels.
