Florence apartment tips?

My husband and I will be in an apartment in Florence for a week at the end of May. Reading posts about keeping your passport and credit cards with you in a money belt or around-the-neck holder, I'm wondering if we could leave those at the apartment since there won't be hotel staff in and out or just folks roaming the halls as much in general. What do you think? Thanks for your feedback!

You'll probably get different opinions on this. I always keep those important things on my person in a money belt under clothes. I have been staying in apartments for several years. While you don't have staff etc, you also don't know how many keys are out there either. You probably won't have any problems with leaving them, but why take the chance? It is always a hassle to get replacements.
