Try www.holidayhomestuscany.com We rented the Boboli Apartment (2 bed/2bath) and loved it. Located in the Oltrano area near the Pitti Palace, but five minutes walk into Florence centre.
Great cafe/restaurants nearby.

We spent 7 days at an apartment two blcoks from the Duomo. Everything was up to date, the contact person was wonderful, and the price was great. It can be found at http://www.residenzarondinelli.it/eng/apartment2+2.php

This is a great apartment, really in the center (borgo Albizi), off the street, quiet, private, etc. http://www.palazzouguccioni.com/apartments/la-tranquilla.html Don't know what your budget is but you would be comfortable there unless you needed 3 separate bedrooms.
