Greetings Florence: Has anyone stayed (recently) at Hotel Scoti? It recv'd a good review in my LP 2006 but......
Siena: Alma Domus is my choice for Siena. Can you reserve anywhere but "Monastery Stays"? Whatever the deposit, it is non refundable. I didn't want to reserve until I was sure about my Palio tickets for 2012 but didn't want to miss out on the good accom at a good price. Thanks
For d reviews of hotels and b&b's you can always check TripAdviser. (Search for "TripAdviser, Florence, Hotel Scoti, reviews"). I recently stayed at the B&B La Coperta Ricamata in Siena and highly recommend it. It is a three minute walk from the bus station. You can easily walk from the b&b to the train (which is down hill, but a more ambitious up hill walk from train to b&b). The owner, Luciana, speaks some English and she is gracious and helpful. The rooms are large and beautifully furnished. Set back from the road behind a private garden, the house is quiet and serene. Breakfast is a good continental breakfast set out in a common area and carried back to your room on a tray. My room came with a small table and several chairs in front of a big window.
