Does anyone have insight on crowds and weather during this time of the year?
About five years ago, we were in Florence at the end of October and there were plenty of tourists. We made advance ticket purchases pretty much everywhere. We were in Rome at the beginning of November, same year, and it was busy, again advance purchases were necessary. I think Rome is always busy. We were just there in February, it was busy, we needed restaurant reservations, for every night.
We went middle to end of November 2024 (arrived Nov 16th) and crowds were not bad and actually low in certain places/days. With that said, we talked with our tour guide and he said the crowds had gone down significantly about 1 week before we arrived so I suspect the beginning of November will have higher crowds. We had absolutely wonderful weather, it was mostly sunny with only 1-day full day of drizzle/rain and another day where it rained about an hour. We wore layers of light jackets, short sleeves, and sweatshirts.
