Florence advice (please

We will be in Florence in June. We would like to see the statue of David (Galleria dell Accademia) as well as go up into the Duomo. I wish to avoid lines and high costs. I understand that the Firenze Card is 72 Euros and we are two adults and two children (ages 17 and 16). Is there a better way to get into these places at less cost with a front of the line arrangement?

Thank you in advance for any feedback

Hello. We purchased tickets directly for the museum and duomo climb. It was less expensive than getting a Firenze Card. We reserved tickets for when they opened in the mornings and never stood in line. It was also a great pleasure to walk through Florence in the early mornings when fewer tourists were out and about.

Thank you for your response. From where did you purchase the tickets and how far in advance did you need to do so?

Thank you

I purchased Accademia tickets in advance from the museum website which redirected me to a booking site called b-ticket.com. A line handler outside checked my electronic ticket info on my phone and routed us to the correct queue, which put us basically right in the door. The tickets were 16E.

We used a guide for Uffizi and she used her guide identification to bypass the ticket line, so can’t help you with cost savings there. Having a guide was great though, Eleonoro Tonon took us straight to the best parts of Uffizi. Both Uffizi and Accademia were fantastic. This was Sept 2019.

Steve, the Firenzecard will not be a good purchase at all for just these two attractions.

Buy tickets for the Duomo here:
https://www.museumflorence.com

Tickets cover entry to the dome climb (advance time entry reservation mandatory), baptistry, crypt, belltower and museum, You should make your reservations to climb the dome at the same time you purchase tickets or at least well before you arrive in Florence: instructions are on the website. Understand that the dome reservation time also starts the clock ticking on the 72- hr. life of the ticket. You will need 4, €20 full-priced tickets for your family. There is no single ticket just to climb the dome.

Buy timed-entry tickets to the Accademia here:
https://webshop.b-ticket.com/webshop/webticket/eventlist?production=4

Tickets are currently available so go ahead and order them if you know what day/time of day you want to visit. You will need two 16,00 € full-priced tickets for the adults, and 2 "Gratuito/Free" 4,00 € tickets for your children as long as both will be under age 18 at the time of the visit. Bring their passports to the museum with you for proof of age.

Just to make you avoid online scammers : Nobody can make you skip the security line, you can avoid the line to purchase tickets by getting them in advance on the official sites. There is no other line to be put in front of: It's just security and tickets'

Thank you so much. I have the web sites written down and plan to follow your suggestions. You probably saved us some serious money.
