I am planning to stay 3-4 days in florence.We are 3 adults..myself ,my husband and son. We would like to stay in city close to trains,buses and see Florence by walking and do day trips to Siena, Lucca,Chianti .
I am looking into renting a 2 bed R/1 or 2 bath apartment close to downtown . Any suggestions !

I do know that Hotel Dali has a couple of rooms that are appropriate for 3 or 4 people. We stayed there in 2009, and the proprietors Marco and Samantha were very helpful and accomodating. Give them a try. The location is about 2 blocks from the Duomo, and many of the rooms face onto a quiet courtyard. Rooms also have mini-fridges. Hotel Dali is included in Rick's books.

Try www.holidayhomestuscany.com We stayed in the Boboli apartment (2bed/2bath) and loved it. Quite spacious. Close walking distance to everything. Back entrance across the road to the Pitti Palace and Boboli gardens. Bus practically outside door if you dont want to walk to centre (walking takes about 5 mins). We walked from the apartment to bus station when we went to Lucca, Sienna etc . Not that far.
Apartment situated on Via Romana in the Oltrano area in Florence. Lovely artisan workshops, cafes, eateries etc. Happy travels.
