Would appreciate recommendations for affordable and air-conditioned accommodations in centre of Florence so we can walk everywhere. Mid September 2019.

We have loved Loggiato dei Serviti about 4 blocks north of the Duomo.... Don't know about the AC, I doubt it.

We stayed in this apartment in September of 2016 for a week and walked everywhere. It was air conditioned.

I did not check the website for availability but if you are looking for September 2019 as you stated I would be surprised if it is available. You may have trouble finding accommodations at this late date.

B&B La Casa dei Tintori worked well for us in June. Riccardo, the owner, was very friendly and helpful.
