Our itinerary is getting full and options to see "David" are limited to mid-day which means heavy crowds. We did notice that the gallery is open until 9 pm on Thursdays with available tickets for 7 pm or later. Will there likely be less of a crowd at this time? Thanks!
I was at the Accademia a couple weeks ago. My tickets were in the late afternoon. It seemed like the crowds were pretty steady throughout the day. That’s the whole point of timed tickets - to spread the crowds out evenly throughout the day. Once inside the museum, I found the crowds quite manageable. However, it’s possible that large tour groups and school field trips are less likely to go late in the day.
