I need help planning our stop in Florence. I have some ideas, but would like some additional input. We have 8 people Here's what I have so far:
ARRIVAL: Coming in to SM train station on high speed from Rome @ 12:15pm roughly.
- Walk or taxi to our Airbnb on the other side of Duomo. We're renting an Airbnb with a private garden, so may want to chill a bit.
( Afternoon open... Ideas please ) - Lunch at the Mercado Centrale looks good!
- Advance tickets and reservations for Accademia Galleries (1.5 hours?)
- Dinner, Stroll, Gelato....return to Airbnb
---- DAY 2 ------
SAN GIMIGNANO & CHIANTI GUIDED TOUR - https://www.florencetour.com/tuscany-countryside-tour/chianti-and-san-gimignano-guided-tour/ - Paola Migliorini.
This tour looks good to get us out of Florence and take in the Tuscan Countryside. They also have a San Gimi / Siena combo (1 hour longer) but I like the idea of seeing more of the countryside and small villages.
- Return that evening - Pizza and wine in our garden courtyard.
---- DAY 3 ----
This is the tricky part. We have all day to explore Florence. The main event will be Uffizi Gallery, possibly later in the afternoon. Like to have a guided tour for those in our group interested. I see some that offer 2 hours in the museum, followed by 2 more hours walking around Florence and possibly a lunch. I'm sure they'll walk by the Duomo (I'd like to visit the museum at some point), Ponte Veccio, etc. - We'll have dinner that night, but here's the weird part: We're catching the OBB NightJet train for Munich at 10:30pm. I'll have to speak to our Airbnb host about baggage, or possibly get everything into a locker situation at the train station.
Any ideas and thoughts are welcome.
Oh, I'd like to catch sunset from that Plaza Michaelangelo thing too....maybe before dinner the last night?
