Looking for a nice area/neighborhood to stay in Florence! Have mostly been booking through airbnb but would consider a hotel!

My favorite is Hotel Bigallo, around the corner from the Baptistry. I also like Hotel Paris, a little closer to Santa Maria Novella train station.
I don't use airb&b so can't recommend anything through them.

We stayed at Hotel La Scaletta, right across the river at Pont Veccio between Pitti Palace and the river. Great place, really exceptional staff, walkable to just about everything. The staff will tell you where their families get pizza, enjoy gelato, and how and when to enjoy the best of Firenza. We never use airbnb after a couple bad experiences.
