FlixTrain

Well, my sister purchased our Interflix bus tickets today. Wish me luck. LOL. I guess we're going from Amsterdam to Frankfurt and then Frankfurt to Rome. Some of our ancestors came from the Frankfurt area. I'm looking forward to the Romerburg.

And did you hear a new FlixTrain is being introduced March 24? So far, the route is only Cologne/Hamburg/Dusseldorf, but they hope to have several more going in Germany, different routes, by the end of April.

I hope to ride it at least once during its debut. Fun! Sounds like quite the money saver, too.

Trainline is advertising a train from Flix, Spain, to several towns in France, but they say nothing about Germany.

German Rail also shows an IC from Köln to Hamburg every morning but says "booking not possible". No mention of Flix. It's already running (nothing about a March 24 start).

Can anyone scroll down in this link for me, and tell me what the menu says? I think I see Gummy Bears, nuts of some kind, and is that a cracker of some sort? I didn't know they had coffee on FlixBus. Does it say whether they accept credit card payments for their snacks? Thanks for your help:

I don't really read German, but this is what I get with some assistance from Google:

Salted Peanuts
Gummy bears
Bifi Roll*
Cheese & chives sandwich**

  • Wikipedia tells me this is a jerky-like salami wrapped in a roll

** I can't decode "Wasa", and perhaps "chives" really means "onion" here.

I don't know what the white-on-orange text says.

You'll have a lot more choices of food if you just buy something before boarding.

Thanks so much, acraven! How fun! We should have time to buy some goodies in Amsterdam before boarding. And I'm going to pack granola bars and some jerky and cheese sticks. I read that sometimes the snacks are available for purchase at only certain hours from the driver on the Flixbus. Amsterdam would be a great place to buy really good cheese and maybe some croissants or baguettes to take along. Oh, and stroopwafels! Yummmm! Can you tell I'm starting to get excited? Time to check in. I hope I can get a northern seat on the plane in case I can see Northern Lights again, from up in the air, like last Spring.
