Flights to Italy

We're ready to book our flight to Italy in April. What's the general opinion about fares going down a bit after the new year? The best we can do right now is around $850 pp from the east coast. Also, we need to get travel insurance as I have an elderly mother I'm concerned about and would appreciate suggestions on which companies are reputable. Thanks so much for your input & happy holidays!

Ellyn - Get your best prices and then call George - the manager at - http://www.airfareplanet.com/
I've used the company, which is a Wholesaler/Consolidator, for many years and he almost ALWAYS beats the competition.
Have a Great time in Italia!!

Ciao, Greg

Ellyn,
Yeah, we're going to Sorrento in late April for our 35th anniversary. The prices to me are too high right now. Will hold till they drop under 600 + taxes. I always deal directly with the airlines rather than dealing with travel sites.

Good Hunting!

Go to www.airberlin.com. They fly point to point so you may have to make two reservations.
Saver fares from JFK to Stansfield and other locations in Germany, look pretty competitive, so play around.

Thanks for all your suggestions. We booked an $800 (taxes inc) flight through flycheapabroad.com yesterday. I was a little concerned about using them but our flights showed up on the Delta website immediately and we were able to choose seats so it all looks fine.
I know it might have been possible to do better but with a little more than 3 months out, I wanted to concentrate on the itinerary.

Now to plan the good stuff!
