Flights - Rome to Catania

We are looking for guidance on airlines to use to fly from Rome to Catania. We will also need a return flight Catania to Milan. I was orginally told to use Blue-express but they are only offering one flight on the day we are traveling and it is very late in the day. We would like to arrive in Catania early in the day. There are several other airlines to choose from, such as Vueling, Ryanair, Iberia, Alitalia, Meridiana Fly, and perhaps even more. So our wondering is more...are there any airlines we should NOT use? Any that are difficult or typically delayed, that kind of thing. Thank you for any suggestions.

You can check Wikipedia under Catania Fontanarossa airport which airlines fly to/from Catania and their destinations. Iberia is not one. Also you have the option of flying to-from Palermo, if their flights are more convenient. Any airline should work if the prices and schedule fits your needs.

I've used Alitalia many times and have always been pleased. Never flown here during the winter months, but spring, summer and fall they have a lot of options for flight times. Also didn't have any surprise fees for luggage.
