Since you are planning so far in advance, another thought is to look into using credit card "points," and booking many months ahead, when the cheapest "points" tickets become available. For example: I am using my Chase United points and flying this summer into Rome (New Orleans-Chicago-Rome) and out of Venice (Venice-Newark-New Orleans) for only 30,000 points each way - total 60,000 points, plus change for the taxes. I booked these tickets for summer 2016 in November 2015. Chase will GIVE you 20,000 points just for signing up and charging a certain amount on the card within the first 3 months. And this is really not the best card, overall, for points. Doing ALL of my on-line shopping through the United on-line shopping portal (on the United website, which gives extra points for every purchase), and counting on those 10,000 point annual bonuses, etc, means this is the second summer in a row that I will be flying to Italy on just points. Do some research and you ought to at least have one way covered for the annual cost of the credit card ($99). (Plus I get free checked bags and semi-priority boarding for booking the ticket's taxes on the card.) But check out other cards too....There's a Capitol One card, I believe, that accrues points usable on many different airlines. You may not have to fly Aeroflot!
